  Welcome To The WBSA, Inc. 

 

The Wilton Baseball & Softball Association, Inc., or WBSA, is a volunteer organization designed to support the Wilton High School baseball & softball programs. Additionally, the WBSA provides playing opportunities in the Spring, Summer and Fall for Wilton youths in Baseball for those boys who have grown out of Little League (age 13 as of 4/30 of the current year and up) and for girls as young as 9 years old who want to play travel softball in the summer and fall when Wilton Little League Softball programs are not available. Working year round, the WBSA strives to provide a quality baseball and softball environment in Wilton for our youth.

If you are currently a WBSA member, please go into the personal profiles of all of your family members set up on this web site and ensure that under CONTACT you have not checked the "NO EMAILS" option.  If this is selected, you WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY EMAILS OR ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM WBSA about teams, schedules, open registration, deadlines, etc.

WBSA 2021 Spring and Summer Team Tryouts

Registration is now open for 2021 Summer Travel Tournament Baseball Programs.  You must pre-register and select the team or teams you wish to be considered for to be placed on a roster.

13 and 14 year olds:  Tryouts will be held Sunday, October 4th from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wilton High School Varsity Field.  The makeup date for tryouts will be held on Sunday, October 18th from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wilton High School Varsity Field.

15 year olds and older:   Tryouts will be held Sunday October 11th from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Wilton High School Varsity Field.  The makeup date for tryouts will be held on Sunday, October 18th from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wilton High School Varsity Field.

A final tryout is scheduled for Sunday, October 18th from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wilton High School Varsity Field.  This tryout is for any age group.

All players must register for tryouts here.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of tryouts to sign in and warm up.  Attendance is only required at one session.

2021 Summer Baseball Offerings:

We are very pleased to be offering a new model of summer baseball in Wilton that provides more instruction time with our respected coaches and gives our developing players more experiences at the same tournaments as the local AAU teams.  With access to local fields and providing the opportunity for friends to continue to play together, we are very excited with the evolution of our baseball programs. 

Please read the program descriptions below.  At registration you will choose to be considered for one or more of the teams during this tryout.  If placed on two teams it will be the player’s choice of which program to join.

15U and 17U Tournament Teams

The Summer 15U and 17U Tournament Team will be a weekend tournament team. The team will run from the first week of June until the first week of August.  Practice will be at least three nights a week in Wilton and will be heavily focused on developing player skills and maturing knowledge of the game itself. The team expects to be entered in 5 weekend tournaments with 4 in Connecticut and one in Rhode Island or Massachusetts beginning the end of June.  The 15U team is open to players born on or after May 1, 2004 and the 17U team is open to players born on or after May 1, 2003.  The cost of the program is $1950 plus a $50 non-refundable tryout fee.  Once the rosters have been finalized, players will be notified and will have until early November to accept a positoin on the team.  The first payment to lock in your spot on the team is due on Novemebr 15th.

14U Travel/Tournament Team

The 14U Travel/Tournament team will be a hybrid of a travel and weekend tournament team.  The team will run from the beginning of June until the first week of August.  The team will hold two or more practices per week in Wilton and will be heavily focused on developing player skills and maturing knowledge of the game itself.  The team expects to play approximately 20 league games in Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League and be entered in 3 weekend tournaments in Connecticut over the course of the season.  This team is open to players born on or after May 1, 2006.  Program cost is $1650 plus a $50 non-refundable tryout fee.  Once the rosters have been finalized, players will be notified and will have until early November to accept a positoin on the team.  The first payment to lock in your spot on the team is due on Novemebr 15th.

13U Travel/Tournament Team

The Summer 13U travel team is designed as the town path to preparing boys for high school baseball and will be a travel team with one weekend tournament team.  Team activities will be coordinated by All-America Baseball Training and Development owner Vin Carlucci and coached by his team and be heavily focused on developing player skills and maturing knowledge of the game itself.  The team will run from the beginning of June until the first week of August.  The team will hold two or more practices per week in Wilton based on game schedule.  The team expects to play approximately 20 league games in Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League and be entered in 1 weekend tournaments in Connecticut over the course of the season.  This team is open to players born on or after May 1, 2007.  Program cost is $1450 plus a $50 non-refundable tryout fee. Once the rosters have been finalized, players will be notified and will have until early November to accept a positoin on the team.  The first payment to lock in your spot on the team is due on November 15th.

2021 Spring Baseball Offerings:

The WBSA will also offer 13U and 14U spring travel baseball teams that was designed to seamlessly transition into the Summer travel baseball offerings. In place of a separate tryout, all middle school players on the Summer 2021 travel teams will be given first right of refusal to a spring travel team.  The Spring travel program will be heavily focused on development and adjusting to the big diamond.  It will include a minimum of 2 practices per week in April and May and a 12-15 game schedule in the Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League.  The cost of the program is $900.  Registration details for the 13U and 14U Spring Travel teams will be sent separately to those who will be age eligible in December.

If there is sufficient interest, the House Babe Ruth Teams will be offered this Spring at the 13U and 15U levels with as many teams as needed to accommodate all registered players.  Information and registration details for the Babe Ruth spring teams will be sent separately in January.

Covid-19 Baseball and Softball Return to Play

Wilton Baseball and Softball Association has obtained approval to return to play baseball and softball from the committee including the Wilton's Health Director.

WBSA Safety Protocol Reminders

Masks are to be worn by players and coaches when not maintaing a 6 foot distance:

  1. When behind the fences during practice (unless drinking water)
  2. While not on the field defensively or waiting to bat, unless they are on deck or in the hole.
  3. While taking a knee. If a coach needs to remove his mask to be heard, he must be at least 6 feet from the nearest player.

A player who would like to keep his mask on may always do so.

Hand sanitizer should be used:

  1. Before the start of practice
  2. During all breaks
  3. Between innings

During practice and games:

  1. Players should stand 6 feet apart whenever possible.
  2. Store gear 6 feet apart as marked along field fences.  

General:

  1. NO FOOD at practice. This means NO GUM and no SUNFLOWER SEEDS as well.
  2. NO SPITTING. If you must spit, spit into a tissue and discard it appropriately.
  3. Bring your own water bottle. Coaches will not provide water.
  4. Batting cages may only be used with a portable L-screen which will be erected at the beginning of practice and taken down at the end of practice.  No other types of L-screens may be used on the fields.

NEW WBSA MEMBER REGISTRATION
If you are registering for a WBSA program for the first time, you need to enter your 'member' information into the site.  To do this, go to REGISTER ONLINE on the left menu and select the desired program from the list (you may need to scroll down). 

Then, enter your email address.  The system will automatically send a temporary password to that address, with which you can log on again and change your password to something that you can easily remember.

When creating your family memberships on the site, please remember to enter PARENT information first, before that of your children.
